We might be a little bit biased here at Landzie, but we believe we make the best compost, peat moss, and top dressing spreader on the market. Our customers agree! Check out our 800+ Amazon reviews to see what people really think.
We developed our Compost Spreader after trying out similar models. However, we found a lot of issues with the Peak Seasons™ compost and peat moss spreader. We knew it would not help us complete our backyard project. If you are looking to spread compost, top dress your lawn, or cover a newly seeded lawn in peat moss, our product is for you!

What Can You Spread With a Landzie?
A Landzie Spreader can be used to spread a variety of materials, such as peat moss, compost, and topsoil. These first three materials are the most common for top-dressing lawns. Additionally, you can spread manure, fine mulch, and masonry sand with our spreaders. Just make sure your material is small enough to slip through the diamond-shaped holes, but not so fine that it falls out too quickly. Did you find another use for the Landzie? Frequently Asked Questions
What type of top dressing is best for a lawn?
There are many types of topdressing that can be used on a lawn, but the best type depends on the specific needs of the lawn. For example, if the lawn is in need of additional nutrients, then a top dressing that is high in the organic matter would be beneficial. However, if the main concern is that the lawn is too compacted, then a lighter topdressing material such as sand would be best. In general, it is best to consult with a lawn care professional to determine which type of top dressing is best for a particular lawn.
How much top dressing should be used per square foot of lawn?
This is a difficult question to answer because it really depends on the condition of your lawn and what type of top-dressing material you are using. A general rule of thumb is to use 1/4 to 1/2 pounds of topdressing per square foot of lawn. If you are using a very fine topdressing material, you may need to use less. If your lawn is in poor condition, you may want to use more.
How often should top dressing be applied to a lawn?
For best results, the top dressing should be applied to a lawn every 4–6 weeks. This schedule will ensure that the lawn has plenty of nutrients to stay healthy and green.
